About Clare
Hello, my name is Clare and I am the founder of ‘blindsided by thought’.
I started my working life as a hairdresser. It was all I ever wanted to be from about the age of 3. I loved working with people and being a hairdresser was an amazing foundation for being a coach, I had a lot of practise talking and connecting with people.
My journey to becoming a mental health coach was inspired by my own personal struggle with anxiety, which I experienced for 25 years. As a mother of three, I understand the importance of emotional wellbeing and how it can impact every aspect of our lives.
Fortunately , I discovered a new perspective on mental health that was life-changing. It was like receiving an instruction manual for my mind, helping me understand how it works and how to navigate its complexities.
This newfound knowledge slotted everything into place and the anxiety dissolved and never came back, unlike other things i’d tried which were very much short term fixes.
MY TRAINING as a coach
Inspired by my experience, I decided to share this with others to improve their mental wellbeing. I was trained by Dr Amy Johnson to be a change coach. I then went on to train to coach teenagers and young people. I trained to become an iheart facilitator – iheart stands for Innate Health Educational and Resilience Training. It’s a program designed to be delivered to 9-12 year olds or 13+
My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where we can explore thoughts, feelings and behaviours and look at our beliefs, opinions and conditioning to see what it’s made of.
